in environmental, social and cultural ecology.

With their support, this building became perhaps
the most sustainable and environmentally friendly
(legal) building in California.

Strawbale walls provide support and mass for an efficient passive solar design;solar water and electricity mean the building approaches 90% energy independence. Fine detailing, plaster work, stained concrete floors, and trim materials milled from trees on site further enliven the already dynamic building.
