What are straw-bale buildings like?

Of course, bale buildings can come in any style, shape or color--in fact you can make anything out of bales except skinny walls. Bale walls have some special qualities, though...... thickness to see, texture to touch, and silence to enjoy...... "warm and cozy" Bales are well suited for building round structures, because they bend easily, and can be easily plastered. Plastered bales provide a good foundation for passive solar design. The somewhat irregular, undulating walls add texture and interest to the walls of any building, and naturally reflect traditional building styles.
